Birchbox July 2014 Power Up Box

Birchbox chose Power Up for their theme to inspire us to power up our month, and started by doing so with beauty supplies in our box! The outer box it was shipped in was a pretty blue, and the inner box was different!

The insert.

First look.

Harvey Prince, Hello Body Creme. Full size $22. This was scented way too strongly for me and my husband and kept making us sneeze! So I’ll be saving this for maybe a pedi or even a gift. We smelled it straight from the bottle and couldn’t take it lol. It’s a shame because the little tube is so adorable! Description: “Infused with the best-selling citrus-floral scent, this hydrator leaves skin silky-smooth.”

ncLA Nail Wraps – House of Hollywood N.1, Full size $16. This is already almost double the value of the box. Although I wouldn’t pay that much for these wraps, because I am not a fan of thin nail wraps and the complications they come with. I am thinking of saving these for a giveaway later. I’m compiling new nail items/prizes for future giveaways. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Description: “These self-adhesive nail wraps let you cop a colorful, long-lasting mani in minutes. Ofra Universal Eyebrow Pencil, full size $13. I received this exact same item in my Ipsy bag last month and was not really happy with it. The smudging actually removed it and it didn’t look natural to me at all. I was happy to have gotten a full sized item though. Description: “Water-resistant, universally flattering pencil that glides on for long-lasting definition. Use short, light strokes to fill in your brows, and then gently smudge with a small brush.”

St. Tropez Tan, Gradual Tan Plus Anti-Ageing Multi-Action Face. Full size $35. This intrigues me, I’m a little afraid to try it but at the same time I could use some color since I hardly go in the sun since my skin is sensitive to it. Description: “Lightweight lotion that hydrates, fights fine lines, and leaves a beautiful bronzed glow. Blend into skin, using a light circular motion. Be sure to wash hands after use.”

Supergoop Advanced SPF 37 Anti-Aging Eye Cream, full size $45. I’m probably most excited about this! It may be small but with eye creams you only need a little, so this should last a while. Description: “This peptide-packed anti-aging cream instantly brightens eyes and protects with SPF 37. Apply a pea-sized amount to undereye area, lightly dabbing with fingers to blend.”

This was a pretty incredible box and I can’t wait to try the eye cream, tanning lotion, and get sun-ready!
