Beauty Box 5 Trial Free Box Summer Chic June 2014

I had a code to try Beauty Box 5 for free the first month and thought I’d check it out! It normally costs $12/month, but there was a Facebook offer/code to see what all the fuss is about! The theme for this box is Summer Chic for June 2014.

First look.

They included extra card inserts to spread the word, so feel free to use the code below in the photos!

Starting with one of my favorite items and a pleasant surprise, Nicka K New York Nail Color in a gorgeous red! Description: “What a sweet sheen! This lovely polish goes on smooth and offers even, long-wear coverage that doesn’t chip! Plus, the short brush makes application easy and yields a clean, formaldehyde-free finish.” Retails for $4.99.

This mini mascara isn’t something I’m too excited about since it will dry up shortly after being opened/used. It’s from Glam Natural and full size retails for $28/.25oz. Description: “It’s hard being a girl who loves makeup and has sensitive eyes, but this mascara is the answer to our prayers! Gluten-free, paraben-free, and hypoallergenic, this vegan formula lifts lashes and won’t irritate your pretty peepers — layer away!”

Another small sample size that wasn’t so impressive, Eslor Herbal Soothing Gel & Soothing Cream. Retail for full size is $42/1fl oz, and $65/1.7fl oz. Description: “Protect that pretty face! This calming gel moisturizes and comforts irritated, dry skin with aloe vera and botanical extracts while the supple soothing cream is the perfect anti-aging moisturizer for day and night! No parabens here!” I will probably just try this out to moisturize my hands, it seems pointless to try it on my face for one use. That really isn’t going to tell me how it works on my skin long term.

Sedona Lace, Synthetic Blender Brush – EB17, retails for $8.95. My brush was kind of smashed into my box in a way where it seems like they just wanted it to fit diagonally regardless if it smashes the brush or not. So naturally, my brush head is smashed diagonally, I have it squished in my vanity drawer in hopes to straighten it. If anything, I’ll wet it with water in attempt to re-dry it into it’s shape. Description: “Perfect for blending creamy eyeshadows or applying concealers, this multi-purpose brush has soft, dense synthetic bristles that won’t irritate your skin and a petite head that’s perfect for evenly contouring hard to reach areas, like the sides of your nose!”

Design Essentials, Natural Curling Enhancing Mousse. Retail $15.99/7.5 oz. This is actually an interesting one, the bottle hold a water-like substance and is supposed to feel like natural hair. You apply it to wet hair, post-shower, and it dries to normal. Ideal for wavy to curly hair. Description: “Save time on styling and sleep in! Great for loose waves or tight ringlets, this quick-drying olive oil infused curl enhancer delivers moisture, hold, definition, and sheen without the crunch. Plus, it smells seriously amazing.”

This box was fun to try out, but not one I feel is worth keeping in the long run or paying for. I really enjoyed the nail polish and blender brush since they were actually full size. Plus with these two alone, they exceed the box value, valuing at $13.94. Have you subscribed to this box before? If so how diid/do you like it?
